To The Mom Who Hasn't Showered Today and is Googling Side Hustles at Midnight

Hey. I see you.

It's late. The kids are finally asleep — or at least quiet — and instead of sleeping like every "self-care" account tells you to, you're here. Phone brightness turned all the way down. Tabs open. Searching for some version of is it actually possible to make money from home or is this all a scam.

Same, sis. Same.

I'm a mom of three. One of my kids is autistic, which means my days don't run on a schedule — they run on whatever today decides to throw at us. A meltdown before 8am. A school call at noon. An afternoon that went sideways in a way I couldn't have predicted and definitely couldn't have planned around.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I started wanting more. Not in a greedy way. In a I need to feel like myself again and also we could really use the extra money way.

So I started looking. Just like you're doing right now.

Here's what I want to tell you — the stuff I wish someone had told me when I was exactly where you are:

You're not behind. I know it feels like everyone else figured this out years ago and you're late to some party you weren't invited to. You're not. You're right on time for your own story.

Your life is not a liability. The chaos, the unpredictability, the fact that you can't commit to a 9-to-5 side hustle because your mornings are not your own — that's not a weakness. It just means you need a different path. And those paths exist. I'm finding them, slowly, and I'll share every single one here.

Burnout is not a personality flaw. You are not failing at being a mom because you're exhausted. You're exhausted because you are doing an enormous amount with very little support and probably not enough water. Be kind to yourself tonight.

I started this blog because I couldn't find what I was looking for — a real person, in the thick of it, who wasn't pretending it was easy or pretty or perfectly optimized. Someone who was figuring it out one nap time at a time and willing to be honest about what worked and what didn't.

That's what this is. No fluff. No "just wake up at 5am and journal." Just me, telling you what I'm trying, what's actually working, and what was a complete waste of time.

You found this place for a reason.

Stick around.

— A mom who gets it

If this hit home, save it for the next time you need to hear it. And if you know another mom who's running on fumes and big dreams, send it to her.
